From fantasy to reality – your way to get everything you want and especially everyone you want!

Here’s how you can create your own spiritual diet

There’s a popular saying: “Your body is a temple, so take care of it.”

Without our bodies, we might not exist, but without our souls, our lives will have no meaning. Hence, it’s important that we don’t just eat to survive and nourish our bodies, but also our souls.

A spiritual diet awakens your soul and opens it up to spiritual awakening. It keeps our body, mind and emotions in balance and enables us to live a wholesome life. You won’t believe the kind of changes a simple change in diet can bring in you!

For instance, bingeing on junk food can leave you feeling uncomfortable or bloated while adding leafy greens to your meal can aid in digestion. This ultimately translates to better moods and energy levels.

Following a spiritual diet is fairly simple. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Consume raw fruits and vegetables

Be it a bowl of fresh fruits like apples, pears, oranges or vegetables like carrots, beetroot and cucumbers, raw vegetables and fruits have a higher nutritional value. Cooking them robs these vegetables of their nutrition most of the time, so try to eat them raw as much as possible. They make you feel closer and more connected to the earth.

The crunchier your lettuce is, the fresher it is and the closer you are to the spirit of the soil and earth.

2. Take cognizance of religious beliefs

Certain foods are considered impure in certain religions. For instance, beef is considered impure by Hindus, and pork by Muslims, while followers of Jainism avoid all meats. For many people, following religious beliefs paves the way towards spiritual awakening. Hence, it’s good to find out these forbidden food groups as per your belief systems to lead a more spiritual life.

3. Herbs

Herbs have always had a spiritual connection with the human body and experience. Sage is a common herb that’s burnt to cleanse a space of negative energies. Similarly, herbs can also cleanse your body and open it up to spiritual wisdom and enlightenment. They help you open up your chakras and expand your consciousness. You can add them to your diet by seasoning your food with fresh herbs or drinking herbal teas.

4. Water

I can’t stress enough on how important hydration is. Several cultures across the globe see water as a source of healing and energy. It’s why many temples in Hinduism offer holy water as a gift from god to devotees and why newborn babies are baptised with water in Christianity. Water has the ability to detox your body like nothing else. The more hydrated you are, the more your body gets cleansed of negative energies, making room for spirituality to foster.
